This was my real "cool ride"
I was told that this wasn't a real Hot Wheel (unless a wheel bearing burned up...). Ok, I have to agree with that. And, yes it does have a slant six! At least it was cheap to drive...
I am actively looking for a '71 or '72 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the boxy rear end (not the fastback with the rounded flaring over the rear wheels) with an original Rocket 455. It does need to be in decent shape (C8.0 or above).
For those of you that are too young to know, the car above is a 1964 Plymouth Valiant. I also should note that if my son, Brandon, passes his driving test and gets insurance I am giving this to him. I sure hopes he takes good care of it!
Well, Brandon passed his test, got insurance and with much heartache, I gave him the car with the understanding that he can't sell it and must give it back when he is ready for a newer car. I hope it is soon because the '87 Acura Legend I bought is not even close to being as cool! While the fuel injected V6 gets the Acura moving quick and the car has lots of neat gadgets, nobody stares at it when it goes by (unless I would get stopped for checking out the 140mph speedometer)... I have not had the guts to try that yet and probably won't... :) Maybe!
Check out Brandon cruisin' at night (with his hat on - so the sun won't get in his eyes)... Kids these days!
